FENG SHUI ACUPUNCTURE - THE ORIGINAL ACUPUNCTURE
By Mike Edmondson, Lic. Ac. International College of Oriental Medicine; Principal, Feng Shui Medical Institute.

Acupuncture is a medical technique. It involves the insertion of fine needles beneath the surface of the skin. In Western medicine it is used mainly for pain relief. In Eastern medicine iti is used to balance the mind / body / spirit for health and harmony. Balance is the key to a healthy, relaxed and enjoyable lifestyle.

To achieve this, in feng shui acupuncture, needles are inserted into specific energy (chi) points along the channels of energy flow known as meridians. These meridians are named according to the internal organs they nourish and protect, e.g. heart meridian, kidney meridian etc. The meridians themselves are classified according to the five elements of Chinese medicine, e.g. Earth element - Stomach and Spleen meridians, etc. Health and harmony is achieved by adjusting the quantity and quality of chi flowing through the meridians, using feng shui acupuncture.

Four of these meridians - the conception vessel (CV); the governor vessel (GV); the kidney meridian (KID); the bladder meridian (BL); follow the energy (kundalini) pathway of the chakra system used in Colour Breathing.

The GV and CV meridians of feng shui acupuncture form the microcosmic orbit - the equivalent to the shushmana channel of the chakra system.

The BL and KID meridians approximate to the ida and pingala channels of the chakra system. In both systems these channels act as the main conductors of chi / prana feeding the entire nervous system.

Through these channels it is possible to regulate and calm nerve endings to the major internal organs, resulting in improvement in well-being.

When using the Colour Breathing disks it is reasonable to expect an influence on the meridian points associated with individual chakras, as listed below:-
